She immigrated with her family to the United States in 1912. They made their way to the Midwest where she and her husband owned a grocery store in Kansas City. They moved to Nevada, MO from 1931 to 1946 where they owned a clothing store until their move to Kansas City in 1949. She was a former member of Beth Shalom Synagogue and Pioneer Women. Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years: Louis Hankin; brothers: Abe Roven and Charles Rubins; sister: Marsha Carr; son: Richard Hankin. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law: Marvin and Irit Hankin, Jerusalem, Israel; daughter-in-law: Harriet Hankin, Overland Park, KS; grandchildren and their spouses: Larry and Gail Hankin, Steven and Joelle Hankin, Susan Donaldson, Vered and Jeremy Kaufman, Abigail and Stan Wei, Jonathan and Denise Hankin, Liat Hankin, Adva Hankin, Aviel Hankin, Gilad Hankin; 7 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. The family would like to thank the staffs of Village Shalom and Grace Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
