Beatrice Barewin Obituary (1910 - 2011)

Beatrice Barewin, born April 2, 1910, of Overland Park, KS, died March 22, 2011 of natural causes at Villa St. Joseph. Graveside services will be 2:00pm Friday, March 25, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Raytown, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice or a charity of your choice. Born in Cleveland, OH, she lived and worked in the Kansas City area since 1915. Her first husband, Hayman Barewin, died in 1956. Ned Weiss, her second husband, died in 1987 and her subsequent companion, Max Barewin, died in 1997. Mrs. Barewin was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom. She had been an active member of B’nai B’rith Women for many years holding leadership Positions on the local and District levels. Surviving are her son Lee (Claudia) Barewin and daughter Terry Tull, both of Kansas City, and daughter Janet (Ken) Bold, of Coral Springs, FL; grandchildren Howard (Jenny) Barewin, Leslie (Mark) Schuenemeyer, Beth Oberg, Mihaly Bartalos, Kevin (Kim) Bartalos, Neil Bartalos, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Bold, Miles (Dodie) Weiss and Eric (Patricia) Weiss along with nephew Robert (Arlene) Barewin and nieces Barbara (Tom) Riley, Deborah (Michael) Mullen, Elaine (Paul) Grollman, Roseanne (Alan) Peltzie and Andrea (Herb) Hodes; and many great and great-great-grandchildren.
