David Yukon, 81, of Prairie Village, Kansas passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on February 8, 2022. Graveside services will be held 11 am, Friday, February 11, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 5529 Ditzler, Raytown, MO 64133. To join the services by zoom, please email [email protected] for zoom link and passcode. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in David’s name to The Transplant Institute or Jewish Family Services. David was born, Berle Dave Yukon on June 16, 1940 in Kansas City, MO to the late Harry and Lillian (Kaplan) Yukon. He grew up in Kansas City and remained a life-long resident. David served in the Airforce during Vietnam and retired as an Airman 1st class in 1966. He met Sara Jo Weiner and they were soon married in 1971, spending a loving 50 years together. Of all the things David loved, the Chiefs and the Royals were among the top things. At one time he also had a fondness for gambling, however, he gave that up long ago. In David’s free time, he enjoyed volunteering at Research Hospital where he was beloved by all the staff and patients alike. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Max and Dorothy Weiner. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sara Jo Yukon; daughter, Stacey Allison and her husband Calvin and sister, Sheila Horowitz.
