BEVERLY SUE SPITCAUFSKY

Beverly Sue Spitcaufsky, a long-time resident of Holmes Beach, FL died peacefully in her home on Friday, December 29, 2017. Born November 19, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri, Beverly received a Bachelor of Arts and Masters degrees from Drake University. Beverly worked as a mental health therapist and in her later years became an active hospice volunteer and a therapist for battered woman. Being a lover of all creatures great and small, Beverly found great joy in fostering cats for the local shelter. Growing up with parents who loved horses, she was known as a fearless and buoyant presence on her parent’s many horses. She was also an avid student of Aikido, practicing that martial art for almost thirty years. Beverly was preceded in death by her blessed parents, Melvin and Evelyn Spitcaufsky (nee Horowitz/Smith). She is survived by her brother, Larry (Tiki) Spitcaufsky of Rancho Santa Fe, California; her sister, Nancy (Richard) Eisner of Oceanside, California. She will be greatly missed by her five nieces and nephews: Cory (Krissie) Spitcaufsky; Melanie Danielle Felman; Meggie (Craig) Presti; Blake Spitcaufsky; Andrew Sands Eisner and by her great nieces and nephews: Evan, Eli and Sydney Spitcaufsky and Evera Fae Presti. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Louis Memorial Chapel in Kansas City, Missouri and interment will be at Sheffield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Melvin and Evelyn Spitcaufsky Library at Kehilath Israel Synagogue or a charity of your choice.
