Brian David Thalblum

Brian David Thalblum was born on March 9th, 1971, in North Miami Beach, Fl. He moved to Kansas City with his family at the age of three and spend the majority of his life here. He graduated from Pembroke Hill in 1989 and subsequently from Northwestern University in 1993. He worked primarily in the restaurant industry. Brian loved performing, movies, and any sporting event. He had a fantastic memory and was repository of facts. He was the one you wanted on your team in Trivial Pursuit. He was personable and outgoing. One of his favorite activities was doing improv with Comedy Sportz. Brian was a lifetime fan of Chiefs football, Royals baseball, and Jayhawks basketball. He went to any game he could make it too. He went to the World Cup Soccer matches when they were in the United States. He did a tour of baseball stadiums one summer with his mother. Brian could recite every line from nearly any Mel Brooks movie, but especially from his favorite, Blazing Saddles. Brian died tragically, last weekend, at the age of 51, when he was struck by a car. Shortly before the accident he had enjoyed watching KU make it to the NCAA championship. He is survived by his children, Tyler and Samantha, his parents, Donna and Harvey, his brother Todd (Sabrina), and their children, Noah and Gabriella. Funeral services will be held at Louis Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 10:00am. Inurnment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be to The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah.
