Charles J. Klopper, 74 a lifelong area resident, passed away May 25, 2015. Graveside service will be 12:30pm Friday, May 29, 2015 at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery, 1901 Blue Ridge Blvd, Independence, MO 64052.
Charles was born November 16, 1940 to William and Rose Klopper. He attended Kansas City area schools and graduated from Southeast High School. He was a member of the Army and Air Force Reserves. Charles was a former member of Kehilath Israel Synagogue and was very active for many years in the B’nai Brith Youth Organization. He worked for Lettercraft Printing and Advertising Company for several years before moving to Los Angeles, CA. During his short time in California, he worked with Herbert Berlin at Sterling Drugs. He then moved back to Kansas City in the late 60’s to help care for his parents. Charles went back to work for several more years at Lettercraft.
Health issues made it necessary for Charles to retire early. Charles was a generous man whose naturally “good heart” was not quite enough to overcome his many health issues. Charles will be missed greatly by all of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nadine Agron and her husband Howard and brother-in-law Harold Mallin. Survivors include his sons, Steven Klopper, Drexel, MO, Joseph Klopper of Stilwell, KS, sister, Betty Mallin, nephew, Mark Berlin both of Overland Park, KS, niece, Paula Berlin of Santa Monica, CA and great nephew, Simon.
