Geraldine P. Silvers, 87, of Roeland Park, KS, passed away Monday, July 27, 2009, at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Services will be at 2:00pm Wednesday, July 29 in the Yukon Chapel at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Burial to follow. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions to Ohev Sholom Synagogue or the Julius Peltzman Scholarship Fund at Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy. Mrs. Silvers was a member of Congregation Ohev Sholom, its Sisterhood, Hadassah, National Council of Jewish Women and ORT. She was born in Kansas City, MO, was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. Mrs. Silvers attended Kansas City University, now UMKC, and received a degree in Biology. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Alvin Silvers, in 2002. Mrs. Silvers is survived by her daughter, Lori Klarfeld, Prairie Village, KS; son: Keith Silvers, Shawnee, KS; daughter: Lynne Silvers and her husband, Daniel Kurtz, Rancho Cucamonga, CA; brother: Morton Peltzman, Pasadena, TX; grandchildren: Adam B. Klarfeld and his wife Michelle Horovitz, Miami, FL; Kyra Silvers, Rancho Cucamonga, CA; nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
