Howard T. Boasberg Jr.

June 15, 1934 - October 27, 2021

Howard Taft Boasberg, JR, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2021. Howie graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and moved to Kansas City in 1957. In 1963, he joined Bob Bernstein as a partner to form Bernstein, Rein and Boasberg. Howie started The Boasberg Company in 1980 and had an impressive client list from across the globe. In 1990, The Boasberg Company was acquired by Valentine/Radford Communications and he served on the Board of Directors until his retirement in 1995. Howie had a passion for mental health and didn't slow down in retirement; serving on the Board of Directors of Menorah Hospital as the head of the Physician Recruitment Committee. Howie devoted himself to mental health awareness through involvement with NARSAD, CIT training for police, ER nurses, families in crisis and patients who were seeking help. Howie also served as president of the New Reform Temple for four years and on the board of directors for ten years. Actively enjoying retirement, Howie and wife Judith purchased a winter home in Naples, Florida where he fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning a yacht, naming it after his favorite cocktail, "Manhattan Up". Howie enjoyed a full life and had an irresistible personality, he always remembered everyone who crossed his path and left a lasting impression with them all. Howie is survived by his wife, Judith and three sons: Joshua Boasberg, Andrew & (Jessica) Boasberg, Terry & (Julie) Levine; five grandchildren: Adam & (Amanda) Levine, Elliot Levine, Samantha & (Boruch Rumann), Maxwell Boasberg, Gavin Sitkoff-Vuong and great- granddaughter, Olivia Levine. Private family services will be held on Monday, November 1st, 2021. To join the family by zoom, please email [email protected] for the zoom link and passcode. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a charity of one's choice.
