Howard I. Novorr, 92, was born in Kanas City, MO and died peacefully on May 3, 2014 at Village Shalom in Overland Park, KS. Howard was a very devoted son, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, and was lovingly called “Poppoo” by his grandchildren, great grandchildren and many other friends. Howard leaves his wife, Marjorie Optican Novorr, 3 children: Patricia Novorr Traub, Kenneth B. Novorr, both of Dallas, TX and Richard A. and wife, Barbara Brown Novorr of Leawood, KS. He also leaves 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law; Pearl Test Novorr and Shirley Ginsberg Novorr. Howard was predeceased by his parents, Michael Herbert Novorr and Dorothy Cumonow Novorr, brother Gerald Novorr and Eugene L. Novorr, a sister Helen Novorr Margolis Cohen and her husbands Jack J. Margolis and Samuel Cohen. Howard was co-owner of Michael’s Fine Clothing for over 50 years, retiring in 1991. He loved and was loved greatly by his family and friends, loved his garden and golf, but especially his best friend and partner in life for 71 ½ years, Marjorie Optican Novorr. Graveside services and burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tuesday, May 6 at noon. The family requests no flowers and suggests donations to a charity of one’s choice.
