Mary Patricia Sylvia, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2018, at Rose Monahan Hospice House in Worcester, Massachusetts. Pat’s children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends were the most important things in her life, in addition for her love for her favorite place, Rockport, MA. In 2013, when she moved from Rockport to The Highlands in Westborough, MA she found, what she referred as the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Marcus of Westborough, MA. Born December 21, 1928, in New Rochelle, NY. Pat was a graduate of Northwestern University where she was an English and Theater Major. In addition, she was proud to say that she received a Master’s Degree after the age of 65. Pat was a teacher and facilitator of numerous creative writing groups. Earlier this year, Pat published a memoir of her life, “What the Afternoon Knows”. She is survived by her children: David Elyachar, Ann Elyachar, Jonathan Elyachar and wife Jodie, Matthew Elyachar and wife Gloria, Adam Elyachar and wife Stephanie, and Michael Glasgow and wife Aria; as well as 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held in Rockport, MA. Shiva was held in Westborough, MA. Receiving will be at 5:00pm and a Shiva service will be held at 7:00pm in Leawood, KS on October 27, 2018.
