May Ende Berger, 87, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Overland Park Regional Medical. Funeral services will be 11:00am Sunday March 29 in the Yukon Chapel at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Burial will follow. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Berger was born in the Bronx, NY where she attended Theodore Roosevelt High School and graduated as an honor student. She moved to the Kansas City area with her beloved husband, Alex, of 64 years, in 1948. Although she held on tightly to her New York roots May cherished her life and home in Kansas City where she was a member of Beth Shalom Synagogue, Hadassah, B’nai B’rith Women and Marcella Rodin and an active volunteer for Jewish Federation. With a great desire to see the world, she and Alex traveled extensively. May is survived by her husband, Alex; son and daughter-in-law: Robert and Devorah Berger, Jerusalem; daughter and son-in-law: Sherri Berger Loew and Harvey Loew, Chicago, IL; sister: Bernice Heitman, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren: Elia, Sharona and Shirel Berger, all of Jerusalem.
