Meyer Singer Obituary (1925 - 2011) - Overland Park, Kansas

Meyer Singer passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Village Shalom, surrounded by his family. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 27 pm at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Village Shalom or to F.A.M.I.L.I Values, Inc. (Fostering and Mentoring Independent Living Ideals), PO Box 4142, Olathe, KS 66063. Meyer was born in Kansas City on July 8, 1925 to Rose Horowitz and Jack Singer. At age 12, he moved to Los Angeles and returned to Kansas City in 1947 where he met Lois Elaine Bodker in September of 1948. They married February 13, 1949. For more than 35 years, Meyer serviced the Kansas City garment manufacturing industry as a sales representative. He was President and Owner of Needlecraft Industries, Inc. and was a founding member and past President of Temple Beth El. Meyer was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Mollie Shapiro and Nora Handelman. He is survived by his wife, Lois, of 62 years, his children, Mark Singer (Debra), Joel Singer (Laura), Dana Singer (Nathaline) and Mara Singer, and by his loving grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
