Miriam Birnbaum, 85, passed away on December 15th, 2020. Private Graveside services and burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. For those who would like to attend, a zoom link is available through Louis Memorial Chapel. Miriam was born in 1935 and lived her entire life in the Kansas City area. She met and married Leibert Birnbaum on November 18th, 1956. They had two daughters, Susan and Sharon, whom preceded her in death at much too young an age. She loved her family, enjoyed her friends, and together with Leibert lived a good life that included travel and cards and Chiefs football watch parties. Miriam’s beloved husband Leibert Birnbaum, passed away two years ago. She was also predeceased by her two sisters, Shirley Springer and Dorothy Kaufman, and her brother Stan Silverman. She leaves behind her adored grandchildren, Josh (Harley) Luschen, and Hannah Luschen, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great greats, all of whom knew of her love of cooking, others cooking that is, and benefitted from her kind and welcoming nature. Not the least of which is her niece Patti Friedman, who learned what it meant to just enjoy the moment and the power of holding someone’s hand and that a cup of coffee was good any time of the day. Memorial contributions may be made to any breast cancer charity or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
