Mollie Daniels, 91, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Menorah Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 12 noon Sunday, April 24, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Avenue. Burial at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 or Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Attn: Donor Services, PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309. Mollie was born in Poland, the daughter of Sam and Bertha Dreiseszun. Her father made several trips to the United States to earn enough money to bring the entire family at one time. They came to New York, through Ellis Island when she was 2, and after a short time there, they came to the Kansas City area. During WWII, she worked for the War Department as a “Rosie the Riveter”. She was a longtime member of Kehilath Israel Synagogue and its Sisterhood; life member of Hadassah; member of B’nai B’rith Women, City of Hope and the Jewish Community Center. Mollie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Hyman and Sherman Dreiseszun and her sisters: Rose Morgan, Anna Zalcman and Dora Karger. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Sol Daniels, of the home; daughter and son-in-law: Sandra and Richard Hitt, Chesterfield, MO; son: Bruce Daniels, Overland Park, KS; sisters-in-law: Irene Dreiseszun, Anita Daniels and Dina Jaben; grandchildren and spouses: Jamie and David Steinbach, Jenifer and Brian Caracciolo, Samantha and Sam Feinberg, Jessica and David Kooris, Sara and Danny Wajcman, Rachel and Brian Gruber, Rayna Maayan Daniels and Micah Naftali Daniels; great-grandchildren: Jack, Max, Sadie, Alana, Risa, Dahlia, Kira and Akiva. Many loving nieces and nephews also survive. Mollie’s life revolved around her family. She was devoted to her family’s well being through their “stomachs, minds and spirits”. Mollie will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Donald and Natalie Cohen, Dr. Dimitri Golfinopoulos and the staffs at both Village Shalom and Menorah Medical Center for the wonderful care given to Mollie.
