Neil was preceded in death by his parents Alexander and Katie (Sukon) Meltzer. Neil moved to Kansas City from Brooklyn in 1936 and graduated from Paseo High School in 1946. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during WWII in the Pacific Theater and then again during the Korean War.

He co-founded and worked with his ex-wife, Darlene Malamud Meltzer, and sons over many years to build what became a nationally recognized company known as Wornall Electronics. He took immense pride in his work ethic and self-improvement, including going back to college at the age of 76 and receiving a computer science degree.

Neil was an avid coin collector, enjoyed old movies and could build or fix anything. He took immense pleasure in servicing the television repair needs of Kansas Citians for 35+ years and then in providing advanced electronic security solutions, nationally for Corporate America and the U.S. Government. In his later years, his late 70’s and early 80’s, Neil enjoyed making house calls to service computers, many times for his old television repair customers and friends.
