Paul Myer, 87, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Village Shalom. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Sunday, March 24 at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Ave. Burial Sheffield Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. The family suggests contributions to Kehilath Israel Synagogue in Paul’s name. Paul was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area. After graduating Southeast High School he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving on a supply ship in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After returning from the war Paul and his brother, Harold, opened a family grocery store on Independence Avenue. He then took a position with a wholesale liquor distributor and remained in the industry until his 87th birthday last July. Paul never met anyone to whom he could not be a friend or a colleague. He loved playing golf and took many trips throughout the country. Paul enjoyed being with his family and his many lifelong friends. He was a lifelong member of Kehilath Israel Synagogue, where he was very active and a member of the Minyanaire’s Club. Paul was preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Eda Myer; brothers: Harold and Irving Myer. He is survived by daughters and son-in-law: Jacqui and Mike Wentworth, Buckner, MO and Angi Bond, Buckner, MO; sister: Ruth Feinberg, Overland Park, KS; grandson: Lukas Wentworth, Belton, MO.
