Rita Ann Trantham, 75, of Prairie Village, KS passed away Friday, June 15, 2007 at Kansas City Hospice House. The funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Monday, June 18, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, MO. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family requests no flowers and suggest contributions be made to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 12000 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64145, The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah or a charity of one’s choice. Rita was born August 27, 1931 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Jay J. Duni and Mary Gershberg Duni. Mrs. Trantham graduated from Paseo High School and attended the University of Missouri. Rita was a member of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah and its Sisterhood. She was the recipient of their Shoshana Award. She was a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow for her contribution to help eradicate polio worldwide. She was a member of the Brandeis University National Women’s Committee, Greater Kansas City Chapter. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Jay J. Duni, Mary Studna and stepfather Bennie Studna and Aunt Rose Chernikoff and Uncle Louis Chernikoff. Survivors include husband John Trantham of the home, son and daughter-in-law Craig and Connie Glazer, Mission, KS, son Jeffrey Glazer, Kansas City, MO, son Jack Glazer and his fiancée Candace Sloop, Overland Park, KS, grandsons Jacob Glazer and Alex Glazer, stepsons Tim Trantham, Phoenix, AZ, Dan Trantham, Chicago, IL, sister Dr. Sandra Euster, brother-in-law Dr. Jerry Euster, Columbia, SC, sister-in-law Edna Ness, Williamsburg, VA, brother-in-law Frank Trantham, Kansas City, MO, nieces Johanna Harmon, Karen Brigham, Williamsburg, VA, nephews Marc Trantham, Eric Trantham, New York, NY.
