ROBERT ALAN DAVIS
June 16, 1938 - October 11, 2015
After a long battle with cancer, Robert “Bob” Alan Davis, 77, of Overland Park, died Sunday, October 11, 2015. Funeral services were held at Rose Hill Cemetery on October 13. He was born June 16, 1938, to the late Harry and Cecelia Davis, in Kansas City, MO. A life-long Kansas City resident, he was a Boy Scout as a child, graduated from Paseo High School and attended Rockhurst University. He was also in the United States Army Reserve. Patiently waiting until he found “the one,” Bob married in 2003. Bob was an entrepreneur, owning a Dressler's ice cream franchise in Independence Center and owning a delivery service. Later he managed a Maggie Moo's ice cream shop and retired after many years working at Bruce Smith Drugs in Prairie Village. He was passionate about volunteering, proudly spending many years as an AZA advisor, and as a member of B'nai B'rith. He was active in social clubs at the Jewish Community Center of Kansas City as well as with his N Scale model train club. He had an extensive model train setup at his home and enjoyed sharing it with his step-grandchildren whenever they came to visit. He was also a member of The Temple, Congregation B'nai Yehuda. Bob is survived by his wife of 12 years, Susan Davis, his two nieces, his nephew, two step-children, and five step-grandchildren.
