Sam Ginsberg

Sam Ginsberg passed away in Houston Texas. He was born in Des Moines Iowa in 1911 to loving parents Ben and Helen. Sam outlived his 8 siblings, all of them very close. Sam was a traveling salesman for ladies ready-to-wear and met the love of his life Edna in Kansas City where he made his life. Sam is survived by his two children, Arnold and Brenda, son-in law Barry and Grandson Alec, Alec's wife and two daughters his great grandchildren. Sam has many nieces and nephews from around the united states. Sam also leaves his namesake at the Houston Mounted Patrol, Sam, the horse, recently retired from the Patrol. The mounted patrol has became a part of our family.

Sam was a World War II Veteran as an airplane mechanic with many stories to tell if you asked him. We are thankful for his doctor at the VA Medical Center in Houston and his team. Sam earned the honorary title of Dr. Ginsberg as he worked so closely with Dr C. at the VA Medical Center as if two doctors collaborating on his health and well-being. A special thank you to Dr C for his love and care and he is an honorary Ginsberg. We could not gotten Sam to 102 without him.

Graveside services at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at 3pm Wednesday April 23 . In Lieu of flowers please send donations to Congregation Temple Emanuel in Houston to the Cantor Discretionary Fund, The Houston Mounted Patrol, or the Disabled Vets (see links and addresses below.)

Sam was a loving father, husband, brother, grandfather, uncle to all. He will be remembered for his loving sweet patient personality, his rocking chair, cigars and pipes he loved so much.

My father was a wonderful kind man, and I will miss him as I do my mother every day, those of you who know me know I'm a daddy's girl, and thank you for loving him.
