Sandy was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on March 17, 1950, to Nathan and Rhetta Goldstein. At age 16, she met the love of her life, Marty Eisenman, on a blind date, and they married three years later. Sandy graduated from Shawnee Mission East and then earned a degree in accounting from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She worked at several places throughout her career, including Country Club Christian Church for almost 20 years. Sandy served as President of Congregation Ohev Sholom and was a life member in Women’s American ORT. Most important to Sandy was her family. She loved being a mother and grandmother and was happiest when spending time with her extended family. Though she had lived in Kansas City her entire life, she encouraged her daughters to be independent and enjoyed visiting them wherever they lived. She was a true friend to many and a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Nathan Goldstein; her brother, Eugene Goldstein, and her father-in-law, Gene Eisenman. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Martin Eisenman, of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Marjory Eisenman, Alexandria, VA; and Lynn and Lauren Mandell, Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren, Elena and Max Mandell, Brooklyn, NY; mother, Rhetta Goldstein, Overland Park; brother and sister-in-law, Elliott and Linda Goldstein, Overland Park; sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Micheal Kasson, Denver; mother-in-law, Ruth Eisenman, Overland Park; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald and Roz Pelles, Silver Spring, MD; Scott Eisenman, Houston, TX; and Franci and John Massey, Overland Park;, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Joseph Medical Center who took such wonderful, loving care of Sandy during her extended illness. Stephanie Marquez cared for Sandy in the last few months of her life. They bonded immediately and developed a great affection for each other.
